This summer, Tech Networks of Boston has grown our internship program with four new aspiring tech professionals.

Two of our interns were recruited in partnership with the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC). Every summer, in partnership with the City of Boston and the Boston Public Schools, the PIC organizes employers to participate in the Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program.

Through this initiative, over 3,000 Boston public high school students are hired each summer to work in employer-paid jobs or internships at more than 200 private sector companies. The PIC helps students who are part of the Boston Public Schools system get access to professional or collaborative jobs and internships to gain an early working experience.

Our two other interns were recruited in partnership with the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (BFIT). The Department of Career Services and Industry Partnerships (DCSIP) at BFIT provides students and graduates with the tools necessary to start and advance in their careers while building and maintaining close ties with industry. By fostering relationships with industry partners, DCSIP helps to ensure that their programs remain relevant to workforce needs and that they can identify and secure employment opportunities for our students.

We would like to introduce these bright young students who are sure to be making their mark within our community in the years to come.
